Equal People Performing Arts was created in a disused mushroom shed in 2006 by the founder of Mushroom Theatre Company (MTC), Penni Bubb. The intention was to create a fully inclusive dance, drama and theatre space in South East Essex where children and adults with and without additional needs could come together to enjoy the performing arts as equals.
It is extremely unusual for an organisation to work in this completely integrated way. Equal People Performing Arts strives to pioneer this approach across a wide age and ability range.
As you may know, we now have new premises in the heart of Rayleigh, with two fully-accessible Studios. What isn't so well known locally though, is that we are looking to transform the final part of the building into a multi-purpose studio and performance space - the most ambitious (and expensive) part of the project.
We need your help to complete this, and to further expand our unique services in the local area, and with the Essex Lottery we could both win!
Thanks, and good luck!
